Elaine A. Tomei, 84, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully February 12, 2025, at Hunterdon Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Bayonne, NJ Elaine later moved to Branchburg, where she created a warm and loving home for over 55 years.

Elaine's passion for learning began early in life. After graduating high school, she pursued business studies and later embarked on a successful career as a Senior Credit Account Manager for Brother International. A dedicated and hardworking professional, Elaine remained with the company until her well-earned retirement in 2014.

Beyond her career, Elaine had a deep appreciation for antiques and collectibles. She and her husband Peter found joy in scouring flea markets, attending garage sales, and engaging with buy/sell/trade groups. Her passion extended beyond collecting—she loved the history behind each piece and the stories they told. Additionally, Elaine always enjoyed a fun Halloween celebration and dressing up in costume.

She was a wonderful cook and was famous in her family for her delicious lasagna, homemade Italian tomato sauce and her traditional fried scallops. The family dinners during the holidays were always the highlight of the season.

Above all, Elaine cherished her family. She was a devoted wife to Peter for 67 years, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, and great-grandmother of two.

Elaine is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Anna and Michael Maczak. She is survived by her husband, Peter Tomei; her two sons, Lawrence Tomei and Kenneth Tomei, his wife Jennifer; her grandchildren Erica, husband Jason, and great grandchildren, Emberlyn and Hunter; grandson Brandon and wife Kelly; and granddaughter Lauren.

Elaine's beauty, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 from 10am-12pm at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at 12:00pm, followed by burial at Readington Reformed Cemetery in Whitehouse Station, NJ.
