Edwin "Ed" L. Roche Jr. Branchburg, NJ Edwin "Ed" L. Roche Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital New Brunswick. Born in Somerville, NJ he was a resident of Manville for most of his life before moving to Branchburg 22 years ago. Ed was a graduate of Manville High School Class of 1987, and a college graduate of Mercer County College. Ed owned and operated Creative Craftsmen LLC where he remodeled and designed his own kitchens, bathrooms, decks, etc. He was very well known in the area for his talented work. Ed was a board member for the Branchburg Baseball Club and served on the Parks and Recreation Committee in Branchburg. He also coached all his children's baseball games and served as Umpire Chief for Branchburg. Ed was an avid bowler, Jets, Yankees, and Rangers fan. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, and taking family trips, especially to Maine and the Jersey Shore. He adored his dog Scooby-Do, and his cat El Gato, but his greatest joy in life was spending quality time with his family, especially his children. One of his best qualities was his big heart and great sense of humor. He always knew how to make everyone laugh and smile with his jokes. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and his beloved father, Edwin L. Roche Sr. (2006). Surviving are his beloved mother, Marian Risko Roche Lichtenberg of Clintonville, WI; two dear sons, Bradley and Mathew Roche of Branchburg, NJ; his cherished daughter, Victoria "Tori" Roche of Branchburg; his brother, Thomas of Hillsborough, NJ; his loving girlfriend, Eva and her daughter Sophia Schlauch of Branchburg, NJ; his dog Scooby-Do, his cat, El Gato; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. ***especially his uncle Chick Roche of Whitehouse, NJ. Viewing will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 4-8pm and Friday, October 25, 2019 from 10-11am with an 11am prayer service at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Burial will follow at Rural Hill Cemetery in Whitehouse, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Barnabas Medical Center Burn Unit 94 Old Short Hills Road Livingston, NJ 07039 or the Branchburg Rescue Squad 113 River Rd, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
