Edmund F. Schubert, Jr. , 77, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. Born in Staten Island, NY, he resident of East Brunswick and Bridgewater before moving to Greentown, PA twenty years ago. Mr. Schubert received his Bachelors Degree in Economics from Wagner College in Staten Island, NY. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. Mr. Schubert worked for Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company for thirty years, retiring in 1993. He worked in both the Wall Street, New York and Madison, New Jersey offices. He loved cooking and was an avid reader. He also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with his wife; they especially enjoyed visiting Destin, FL. He always enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edmund F., Sr. and Edna Droste Schubert. Surviving are her his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley M. Piersen Schubert; his cherished daughters, Karen Lynch and husband, Brian of Maplewood and Kristie Reilly and husband, James of Bridgewater; his beloved sons, Gary Schubert and wife, Claudia of Mt. Olive and Gregory Schubert and wife, Julie of Marietta, GA; his eight cherished grandchildren, Kirsten, Jason, William, Brigid, Chase, Liam, Declan, and Kyle; his dear sister, Carol Murphy of Milford, CT; his dear brother, Robert Schubert and wife, Joyce of FL; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 1890 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville.
