Douglas J. Irwin Cary, North Carolina Douglas J. Irwin, 41, of Cary, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 in Richmond, Va. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Douglas resided in Edison and Sayreville, NJ before moving to North Carolina 2 years ago. Douglas obtained his GED from Old Bridge Adult School. Douglas worked as a Truck Driver for Elevate 101 LLC and other trucking companies for 16 years. Doug enjoyed racing cars at Englishtown Raceway. He loved traveling all around the county, especially to the Caribbean. He loved to go fishing, enjoyed music, and discussing politics with his family. The one thing Doug enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his two nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved father, James M. Irwin Sr. (1987) and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Surviving are his loving fiancé Kelly Brock of Cary, NC; his mother, Rita A. O'Brien Irwin of Branchburg, NJ; one dear brother, Jimmy Jr. and wife Tina Irwin of Branchburg, NJ; one sister Brianna and wife Katheryn Blackburn of Branchburg, NJ; and two cherished nephews, Tyler and James III, and his Pitbull, Kooda. A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 11am-1pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Saturday at 1pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Doug's memory to St. Hubert's Animal Shelter 3201 US-22 Somerville, NJ 08876.
