Dorothy Scott Branchburg, NJ Dorothy W. Scott, 91, of Branchburg, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 26. 2020 in Somerville, NJ. Born in Alden, Pennsylvania on March 31, 1929 to her late parents, Walter and Julia (née Frinsco) Waslofski, she resided in in Wilkes-Barre, PA for most of her younger life and has resided in Branchburg, NJ for the last 35 years. Dorothy graduated from Newport Township High School in 1947 and later from Luzerne County Community College on the President's Honor Roll before continuing her studies at Wilkes University. Her 50 plus year career in the telecommunications industry began at Bell of Pennsylvania in Accounting. She was quickly elevated to Management and continued in Human Resources, Personnel Development and Community Outreach where she delivered various lecture series with topics ranging from the Weather to Laser Technology. She was a loaned executive serving on special assignment to the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company for managerial testing and assessment before coming to Bellcore and later Telcordia Technologies in Piscataway, NJ after the breakup of Ma Bell. As a member of the technical staff and customer development teams, she travelled the Country as a liaison between the 7 "Baby Bells". As a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters in PA, "Dottie" received the Recruiter of the Year and 1000 Hour awards. The United Way named her Outstanding Loaned Executive of the Year. She was active in the American Red Cross, the Wilkes-Barre Pioneers and the Little Theater of Wilkes-Barre. Upon moving to NJ she served as a member of the Citizens Committee for Affirmative Action in the Branchburg Township School District and was a member of the Membership Committee of The Players in New York, the oldest theatrical club in the United States. She loved small boat sailing in PA, becoming the first female commodore of the Lake Nuangola Yacht Club. Her other interests included gourmet cooking, baking, taking cruises, ice skating, golfing, bicycling, swimming, aerobics, antiquing and being a movie extra. In high school she was Head Majorette being one of the first ambidextrous dual baton twirlers. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her. Surviving are her devoted husband of 65 years, Eugene; her loving son Barry and companion Olga Marklin of Brooklyn, NY; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6-8pm and the following Saturday morning from 9:15 to 9:45am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral Services will start with a prayer at 9:45am at the funeral home on Saturday, December 5, 2020 followed by a 10:30am funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Bridgewater. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert's Cemetery in Glen Lyon, Pa.
