Dolores Goska

Dolores (Covert) Goska, 93, of Manville, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Weston, NJ, Dolores resided in Branchburg, NJ and Afton, VA before moving back to Manville 11 years ago.

Dolores worked as a Lab Technician for R.C.A Corp for 10 years before her retirement in 1969. She was a former member of Holy Trinity R.C. Church of Bridgewater prior to moving to Virginia.

In 2012, Dolores moved back to New Jersey and enjoyed attending the Manville Senior Center.

Dolores studied at Raritan Valley Community College where she received an Associate's Degree in Arts in 1988.

Her love of art and talent garnered her awards from the Raritan Valley Arts Association, where she was a member, including first and second places respectively.

She became a member of the Shenadoah Valley Arts Center soon after she moved to Virginia in 1993, where she displayed her art throughout the Shenandoah Valley and Rockfish Valley.

Dolores was fiercely independent with an adventurous spirit. She loved to travel which took her around the world.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Frances and Howard Covert, her Brother Theodore Covert, her loving husband, John Goska Jr. (1981).

Surviving are her sister Frances Szczech of Pennington, NJ; two dear sons, John W. Goska of Amherst, VA; Thomas Goska of Manville, NJ; her loving daughter, Darlene Goska of Thornton, CO; eight cherished grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 10am-11am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
