Obituary

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal" Diane Muratore passed peacefully at home on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the young age of 67. Our hearts are broken and we are lost for words at her sudden passing. Diane was born in Brooklyn to the late Antoinette (nee Firneno) and Stephen Muratore. She was one of five children to bless the family. She graduated from Lincoln High School, class of 1973. Shortly after, she was married and started a family of her own. She worked for TWA for many years. In 1991 she moved to Bethpage, NY and took a job with the USPS as a letter carrier. She enjoyed the work and made many friendships through the years. She retired after 25+ years of dedicated service. She currently worked part time at the Long Beach Library in Long Beach, NY where she resided. Diane spent much of her time with her husband Jim and their Westies - Addison, Lacey, and Kayla. Relaxing in the yard, taking frequent walks and daily trips to the dog park made her happy. She enjoyed spending time with her son Joe (and Tobias); she looked forward to her traditional Mother's Day adventures she shared with her daughter Lauren and cherished the special times she spent with her Goddaughter Leah. Diane loved the beach, was a avid reader, enjoyed cooking and cheering on the Yankees. But most of all, she loved being around her family. She had an infectious smile, great sense of humor and a easy going, laid back personality. She lived a simple life but a beautiful life. Everyone loved her. She was kind, beautiful on the inside and out, and possessed an amazing spirit which will never leave us. Although we are deeply saddened by her sudden passing, we take comfort in knowing she is with her recently departed parents and together they will continue watching over our family with love and pride. She leaves her husband Jim Haggerty; her dear children Joseph Amorini and Lauren Amorini; her three brothers, Jack Muratore (Linda), Steven Muratore (Jenni) and Richie Muratore (Angela); her loving sister Lynne Panciello (Michael); many nieces and nephews; and her loyal furbabies Lacey and Kayla.
