Dennis Pierratos , 62, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Cephalonia, Greece, he immigrated to the United States in 1968, living in New York City for six years before moving to Branchburg 35 years ago. Mr. Pierratos was a restaurateur for 20 years, formerly owning the Clairmont Luncheonette for 16 years and then the Minebrook Diner for several years, both in Bernardsville, before retiring in 2005. He was a communicant of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway. Dennis enjoyed traveling with his family to Greece and he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Julia in 2007, his beloved father, Elias in 2005 and a brother, Christos. Surviving are his beloved wife of 40 years, Maria Hionis Pierratos, his three cherished daughters, Julia Thomas, and husband, Mark and Christine Vallianatos, and husband, Peter, all of Atlanta, GA and Nicole Gagis and husband, George, of Branchburg; his six grandchildren, George, Emily, Alexis, Elianna, Nicholas and Andrew, his two dear brothers, Panagi and wife, Anna, of Whitestone, NY and Gerasimos and wife, Nikki, of Cephalonia, Greece, his dear sister, Nikki Leornadatos of Brooklyn, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will begin with a prayer on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 U.S. Highway 202 South Branchburg 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a funeral liturgy at 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Road, Piscataway. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook. Viewing hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home with Trisagio services held at 7:30 PM.
