Dr. Dennis Edward Clark, 92, of Basking Ridge, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerset. Dennis, a Rugby player at Bristol University had the honor of receiving his PhD from Winston Churchill. Born in England, he immigrated with his family to the United States in 1966, and obtained citizenship. He resided in Basking Ridge for 56 years.
Dr. Clark was Director of Research and Development at GSK Beecham Pharmaceuticals LTD, where he was responsible for the formulation of many lifesaving penicillins still in use today.
Dennis was an avid reader of medical and homeopathic journals. He also loved to golf, bird watching, and following tennis and the Yankees. He loved summer living in his house on Brigantine Island as well as fishing from his Grady White boat. The one thing Dennis enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family and friends in their British Pub styled basement.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary June Coles Clark, his parents, Elizabeth and Arthur Clark, his brother Robert "Bob" Clark, and his daughter Rachel Clark.
Surviving are his two dear sons, Robert Clark of Bedminster, NJ and his partner Deborah, Kevin and wife Tricia ; one loving daughter, Denise Hillsdon and her late husband Stanley of Hamilton, NJ; four cherished grandchildren, Daniel Hillsdon and wife Janice, Megan Hillsdon, Dominic Vetri, and Sophia Vetri; and three adored great grandchildren, Carter, Kyle, and Cameron Hillsdon.
