Daniel Wengryn Hillsborough, NJ Daniel Wengryn, 85, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville. He was born in Somerville and resided in Hillsborough all of his life, living and working on the Wengryn Family Farm which included raising dairy cows for New Center Dairies of which he was part owner. He was also a rural letter carrier out of the Neshanic Post Office for over 20 years. In his youth, Daniel was actively participating in 4-H and showing his prize dairy cattle at the Somerset County 4-H Fair. He was also one of the original members of the Somerset Hills Angus Heifer Club where he was one of the first to receive a loan to purchase a heifer through the NJ Junior Breeder's Fund. In the early 50's, he was President of the New Center 4-H Dairy Club, President of the Safeway Tractor Club and Treasurer of the Somerset County 4-H Council. As a result of all his work with 4-H, he was awarded a trip to the National 4-H Club Congress held in Chicago which was a dream come true for him. He loved vegetable gardening, farming, was an avid bowler, and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Daniel came from a family of ten and is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eva and Peter Wengryn; two sisters, Mary Wengryn and Lillian Phillips; and six brothers, Michael, Steven, Myron, John, Peter, and Walter.
