Daniel David Ney, 60, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away in his home on February 22, 2020. Born in Pottsville, PA, he spent his entire life in Elizabeth where he served 25 years with the Elizabeth Fire Department (Badge #533). Danny attended Abraham Lincoln PS 14, Alexander Hamilton Jr. High, Thomas Edison Vo-Tech School and Thomas Jefferson High School graduating in 1977. His passion for service to his community led him to the Elizabeth Fire Department in 1985 where Danny served with valor at Engine Companies in several of the city's neighborhoods during his intrepid tenure as an Elizabeth firefighter until his retirement in 2010. Danny's interests included aeronautics, astronomy, thematic quotations, a love of animals, classic movies and Rock and Roll that included his stint as lead singer for Gates to Eternity. He was the Co-Founder, with brothers Steve and Tom, of Infofan Publications, Inc. Daniel was a generous soul who cared for his neighbors in need and was a gentleman to all in Elizabeth. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul C. Ney, Sr. and Dolores Ann Ney. Surviving are his loving brothers Paul Jr. of Nashville, TN, Thomas and his wife Claudia of West Milford, NJ, and Steven and his wife Carole of Branchburg, NJ. Uncle Dan will be missed as well by nephew and nieces, Michael, Annie, Jessica and Samantha. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 12-3pm at the Branchburg funeral Home. 910 Rt. 202 South Branhcburg, NJ 08876.
