Daniel John Leary III

Branchburg, NJ

On December 18, 2022 Daniel John Leary III, 64, of Branchburg, NJ, passed on after a brief and sudden illness surrounded by his loving family. Daniel is survived by his beautiful wife of nearly forty years, Debra, and their three amazing sons: Daniel John Leary IV and his wife Kelly, Conor James Leary and his husband, Patrick Dezort, and Colin Terrence Leary and his fiancée, Alex Ferrelli. He is also survived by his precious grandson and namesake, Daniel John Leary V, who will dearly miss his beloved "Pops." Daniel is also survived by his sister Marybeth Leary, his brother David and husband, Mick, and his brother Donald, and his husband, Glenn, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

The son of the late Daniel "Coach" and Irene Leary, Dan was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ where he developed his passion for sports, his deeply committed support for the Yankees, and forged lifetime friendships. A graduate of Saint Peter's Prep in Jersey City, Pace University, and The New York State Bankers Association Trust and Estate School, Dan began his career in banking on Wall Street, where he learned to advocate and support his clients beyond compare. He advanced into his career with sterling service provided to the clients of J. Henry Schroder Bank & Trust Company for 10 years and Beacon Trust Company for 23 years before joining Peapack Gladstone Bank and becoming the Chief Fiduciary Officer. Dan established a presence in the banking community with clients and colleagues, where he worked diligently for many people to ensure compassionate care for their affairs.

Dan's greatest joy in life was his family. He was actively involved in so many aspects of his sons' lives as they grew. Dan fulfilled the role of Little League coach for his sons and many of the children in the community. While teaching his players the rules of the games, he helped them to develop the skills they would use to advance in life. Dan served in the Leadership of the Little League and Recreational Sports programs in North Plainfield, Green Brook, and Branchburg. While away from the baseball fields, Dan enjoyed taking annual trips to the Jersey Shore with his family, especially to Cape May, organizing and managing the affairs of his backyard ("putzing"), and spending time relaxing on his deck by the pool. He was an avid Yankees fan and a golfer who enjoyed his annual golf trips with his close friends. Daniel was the happiest when spending time with his family and friends, and his knowledge, legacy, and love will live on with them.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ.

A second viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10am-11am with a prayer service starting at 11am.
