Craig Ferrante, 52, of Bridgewater, NJ, suddenly passed away on Monday March 29, 2021 in Newfoundland, PA. Born in Somerville, NJ, Craig resided in Somerville for 28 years, Manville for 10 years, and then moved to Bridgewater 14 years ago. Craig graduated from Somerset County Vocational School in 1986. He served his community as a Corrections Officer with the Somerset County Sheriff's Office since 1986. A career long member of PBA Local # 177 and self-driven to lead and support the Good & Welfare Committee for the Somerset County Jail. He retired in 2014 and became a member in good standing of Retired Officers - PBA Local #600. Craig volunteered at the Somerset County Food Bank since 1997 and for the last 7 years oversaw productions as warehouse manager for the Somerset County Food Bank. Craig also owned and operated CJ Party Rentals for 22 years. He loved nothing more than to help his friends and neighbors. All were welcomed to enjoy his home, his grill, his BeerBQ's, and sharing sushi. Craig had a passion for fishing, crabbing, camping in the Poconos, spending quality family time and anything involving bringing people together and making them happy. He was most known for his devotion and participation to community building events such as the Santa Toy Run, Kelsey Run, Rolling Thunder, Jacks Kids and dozens of Bridgewater and Somerville community events. Craig always had a love of animals even as a young child. He was a member of The Somerset County 4H Club in the Chicken Club. Craig was also a member of the Raritan Valley Beekeepers Associations. He is predeceased by his father Salvatore Ferrante and his Mother and Father in Law, Agnes and Anthony Sconda. Surviving are his loving wife of 24 years, Sandra "Sandy" Sconda Ferrante, his Mother, Mary Ann Schuler Ferrante of Bridgewater, Loving Son, Craig, Cherished Daughters, Jill and Julie. Sister, Linda and her husband George Kiesel of White Haven, PA; Nieces Kaycie, Sarah, and Jessica, Nephews, Scott and Joseph, Sister in Laws, Sharon and Christine Sconda of Bridgewater, his Yellow Lab CJ, his Husky Jemini, and cat Lulu. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876. A service will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 10:15am. A service will follow at 11am at the United Reformed Church of Somerville, 100 W. Main Street, Somerville.
