Clement (Clem) J. Lagerman, 83, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerville. He was born in Astoria, NY, spent his childhood in East Elmhurst, moved to Jackson Heights and resided in Yonkers, NY for 10 years before moving to Branchburg, NJ 31 years ago.

Clem worked for FDNY for 24 years, all of them at 5 Engine, 14th Street before his retirement in 1989. Clem always said being a firefighter was "the best job in the whole world." Before that he worked for the PDNY for 3 years.

Clem was a dedicated runner. He ran over 20 marathons with the majority of them in New York City. He enjoyed skiing, running, photography, an exciting football game, winning the football pool, good food, listening to a wide variety of music and a challenging cross word puzzle. He was a good-natured guy with a quick wit and an easy laugh. Fire Island and Mt. Snow Vermont were his favorite places to be when he was not in Branchburg.

Clem and Mary Anne Reuther, his best friend and constant companion, built a life of 46 years together, skiing, traveling, and finding good restaurants. They spent their summers on Fire Island socializing, partying, and enjoying life to its fullest with a loyal and little bit crazy group of friends. Mary Anne and Clem never had an adventure without their "boys" to the amusement of friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eleanor and Clement Lagerman, two sisters, Helen Russell and Clair Orthodox and two brothers, David and Michael Lagerman.

Clem is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Reuther; three brothers, Daniel and wife Patricia Lagerman; Paul and wife Barbara Lagerman; Timothy and wife Peggy Lagerman; five sisters, Rita Catapano; Mary and husband Michael Hart; Elizabeth and husband Peter Lazzarevich; Monica and husband Kym Konya; Beatrice Lagerman; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
