Celso Barbosa-Carbonell

Celso Barbosa-Carbonell, 81, of Teaneck, NJ, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born in San Germán, Puerto Rico, Celso spent most of his life in Teaneck, NJ. He spent twelve years in Palm Desert, CA and some time in Bedminster NJ.

Celso worked at the Pepsi-Cola warehouse in Piscataway for 20 years before retiring in 2000.

Celso was an avid golfer and Yankees fan. One thing Celso enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Candelaria and Alfonso Barbosa, three sisters, Maria Christina Ayala, Maria Casilda Barbosa-Carbonell, Jovita Del Soccorro Canel and a brother, Justo Barbosa.

Surviving is his loving wife of 55 years, Luz Irizarry Barbosa, two dear sons, Celso Barbosa Jr of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ; Michael and wife Kelly Barbosa of Bedminster, NJ; one loving daughter, Evelyn and husband George Hunt of Wesley Chapel Fl and four cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Michael Jr., Tayler, and Nikolas.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 2-5pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 4:30pm.

Memorial contributions may be made in Celso's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude PL Memphis, TN 38105.
