Carmen Giusti Barragan
, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at her residence, surrounded by her family. Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Carmen came to the United States in 1959 and resided in Neshanic Station for ten years before moving to Branchburg twelve years ago.
Mrs. Barragan worked as a seamstress for various companies, and for the past ten years she worked as a Child Care Provider for the family business; Apples and Books Learning Center in Branchburg.
Carmen was a communicant of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan. Carmen was devout to her religion and would pray daily. She enjoyed sewing, singing, dancing, and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jesus Barragan in 2006.
Surviving are her loving sons, Rafael Barragan and his wife, Carmen of Flemington and Antonio Giusti and his wife, Estella of Las Vegas, NV; her loving daughter, Bianca Labye of Branchburg; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10:15 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan. Entombment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery and Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Friday, December 30, 2011 from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
