Carmen J. Santangleo, 94, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. Born in Newark, NJ, Carmen resided in Bedminster and Bridgewater before moving to Toms River.

Carmen graduated from Newark Art High School, Class of 1947. After graduating, Carmen served in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 – 1953. He then went on to work at Macy's as a Salesman for 40 plus years before his retirement in 1992.

Carmen enjoyed reading, watching old movies, especially Western. He loved to laugh and had a wonderful personality. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bertha and John Santangelo, his first wife, Ruth Santangelo, a brother, John and sister Antoinette.

Surviving are his loving wife Irene Santangelo, his loving daughters, Louise Hartzog of Toms River, NJ; Christine St. Leon of Colonia, NJ; dear sons, Dave Santangelo of Flemington, NJ; Thomas and wife Karen Santangelo of Holiday, FL; Matthew and wife Barbara Pienciak of Princeton, NJ; John Pienciak of Montana; eleven cherished grandchildren, Rebecca, Melinda, Dana, Kyle, Jacob, Allison, Amanda, Sean, Kristin, Patrick, Philip, and six adored great grandchildren, Faith, Mason, Madyson, Joseph (J.J.), Johnny, and Luke.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 11am-1pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 12:30pm.
