Carmelo Compagnino Bridgewater, NJ Carmelo Compagnino, 88, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at RWJ Somerset. Born in Militello Catania, Sicily, Carmelo came to the United States in 1968. He resided in Raritan for 23 years before moving to Bridgewater 30 years ago. The life he lived was a reflection of his deep faith in God. Carmelo worked for the Township of Somerville for 5 years before retiring in 1998. Carmelo enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife Silvia to their hometown in Sicily to visit family and friends. He loved to tend to his garden and he enjoyed making wine and sauce. The one thing he enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Rosa and Francesco Compagnino, his sister Florence Balliro, his brother, Antonio Compagnino, and his son in law, David Levine. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Silvia Orlando Compagnino, his dear son Francesco and wife Maria Compagnino of Bridgewater, NJ; his loving daughter Rose Levine of Bridgewater, NJ; and two cherished grandchildren, Michael and Tina. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 4-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 9:15am at the Branchburg Funeral Home. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 10am at St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum.
