Biagio "Basil" Pastore Bridgewater, NJ (Formally of Raritan) Biagio "Basil" Pastore, 80, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at his home. Born in Somerville, NJ, he resided in Raritan, NJ for 69 years before moving to Bridgewater 11 years ago. Basil worked for many years for the Fur Dressers Union in New York City where he worked as a Furrier before his retirement in 1990. He was a communicant of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan. Basil was a workaholic, enjoyed going to the racetrack, spending quality time with his family, and never missed one of his grandson's baseball games. His loving candor and tremendous heart will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Basil is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Carmela and Arthur Pastore, and his beloved wife of 41 years, Nancy Cease Pastore (2003). Surviving are his dear son, Arthur of Raritan, NJ, two loving daughters, Dawn and husband Neal Stiles of Indian Trail, NC, and Susan and husband Tim Bugal of Raritan, NJ; his brother, Joseph of Pittstown, NJ; his sister, Rita Benestad of West Palm Beach, FL; and six cherished grandchildren, Jarrett, Derek, Morgan, Hailee, Ashley, and Peyton. Viewing will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home at 11:45am on Saturday, September 22, 2018 followed by a 12:30pm funeral liturgy at St. Ann R.C. Church, 45 Anderson St, Raritan, NJ 08869. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery Mausoleum in Bridgewater.
