Bessie Ranieri Nuccio , 87, died Thursday December 24, 2009 at her residence. Born in Brooklyn, NY she resided in Bridgewater for ten years before moving to Readington ten years ago. Bessie was a communicant of the St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater. She was the manager of Hildyann Sportswear of Brooklyn before retiring in 1990. Bessie spent her time volunteering at the office of St. Bernard Church and helping with CCD. An avid reader, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing word games. She loved working, taking care of her brothers, Minzie and Benny, and enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bessie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Leonard, in 1982. Surviving are her two loving daughters, Rose Vivinetti and husband, Anthony, of Readington and Marian Arena and husband, Frank, of Mendham, her three cherished grandchildren, Angela and Michael Schafer and Amanda Arena, her dear sister, Vera Sorrentino of Melbourne, FL and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 8:45 AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908)526-7638, followed by a 9:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Rt. 22 East, Bridgewater. Interment will be at the Canarsie Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. Viewing hours are Monday, December 28, 2009 from 2 tp 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
