Benjamin D. Cortese , 91, died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Manhattan, he was a longtime Bronx resident before moving to Whitehouse Station a couple of years ago. Mr. Cortese served in the Army during World War II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star. Surviving are his beloved wife of 63 years, Jennie Iannuzzi Cortese; his loving son, Anthony J. and wife, Miriam; grandchildren, Jennifer and Anthony B.; great-granddaughter, Victoria; brothers, Joe, Tony and "Cousin Benny"; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will begin at 9:45 AM on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, 233rd Street and Webster Ave., Bronx, NY.
