Markewicz
Oct 1, 1955 — Aug 14, 2023
Benita (Sainz) Markewicz
Born 1955, Perth Amboy NJ. Peacefully passed August 14, 2023.
Precious 4th child to Manuel Sainz & Cecelia Wojkiewicz Sainz deceased.
Benita is survived by her devoted husband, Todd Markewicz of Whitehouse Station NJ, sharing 42 love-filled years. Also beloved nephew Manuel O Sainz & Sister-in-Law Barbara Sainz of Edinburg VA.
She was cherished by her predeceased siblings June Pearl Sainz, Monica Desiree Sainz both of Perth Amboy NJ, and Manuel J Sainz of Edinburg VA. She was always ready to share laughter, music and the adventures of the Sainz family.
She was much loved by the Markewicz Family, Fred & Doris, Jeff, Drew, Tina, Ashley & Adam Mraz, Bruce, Ursula, Matthew, Brian, the McGrath family of Perth Amboy, and many extended family members of New Jersey and California.
Benita attended and graduated St. Stephen's GS, Perth Amboy HS. She later received her RN of Nursing in 2001 and became a Pediatric Nurse at Hunterdon Pediatrics in Flemington NJ. Her Pediatric Nursing skills were greatly acknowledged and appreciated throughout the community.
As a young girl she studied ballet and continued to love to dance all her life. She then studied under The New Jersey Ballet.
Benita especially enjoyed her animal menagerie which included dogs, cats, and miniature goats, treating them all, whether rescues or adopted, with loving care & kindness.
She loved their yearly vacations to Camp Gone To The Dogs in Stowe Vermont with Todd and their fur-babies as they learned to compete in Canine Agility Trials with skills & training.
She was a member of FOSRAS, Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter. She LOVED volunteering, walking dogs, working at the shelter, the booths at animal adoption events and marching in the Somerville Parades with FOSRAS.
Her favorite 'quiet place' was her Jersey Shore house on the beach. Sunning and curling her toes in the hot sand while sipping cool drinks and enjoying ice cream.
She wore happy memories & traditions proudly, and offered support, kindness, love, and strength to those who needed it.
Benita will always be remembered for her broad smile, infectious laugh, compassionate demeanor, and warm hugs.
