Barbara Ann Geisler

March 2, 1941 – May 26, 2026

Barbara Ann Geisler, 85, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. She was a strong woman of boundless energy and passion with a big, loving personality that filled every room she entered.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late William Geisler (d. 1994). Together, they raised five children: John Geisler; Joseph (Renee Amrowski) Geisler; Paul (Andrea) Geisler; Christine (John) Vara; and Michelle Geisler (Carlos Anderson). Barbara was adored by her ten grandchildren—Ricky Leigh Geisler (Joseph Monchek), Jessica Vara (Joshua) Chavez, Samantha Vara, Marissa Vara (Taylor) Silman, Danielle Vara (Andrew Feld), William Geisler, Grace Vara, Brennen Geisler, Madelyn Anderson and Colin Anderson. She was recently blessed with her first great-grandchild, Beckham Vara Silman. She was predeceased by her mother Helen Dimperio and father Christopher Farina, and is survived by her siblings, Helene Mahoney, Richard Farina, and Christopher (Patricia) Farina.

Barbara lived her life in service of others volunteering in many ways to include supporting the high school football team and Pop Warner cheerleading, interviewing potential Habitat for Humanity home recipients, working the local voting booths, or donating to local food banks, Barbara was always willing to lend a hand.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Barbara had a unique gift for building community with the everyday people she would encounter. Whether it was the employees at the bank, the staff at the dental office, or her neighbors where she lived for over 50 years, Barbara would open her home to them and fill it with food and laughter. Her most enduring legacy was her passion for cooking and eating. It was not uncommon for her to offer to teach her friends and family the secrets to her treasured family meatballs and pasta fagipoli recipes.

Her neighbors became a cherished part of her extended family and she was delighted to attend their children's plays, sporting events and graduations, just as she did for her own grandchildren.

Her annual Easter egg decorating event became a treasured tradition among friends and neighbors, and she amassed an extensive collection of intricately decorated eggs that she displayed in her home all year long.

Even in her final months, Barbara exemplified amazing strength and character. She remained deeply grateful, often expressing how truly blessed she felt her life had been. She faced her terminal diagnosis with a remarkable spirit, never complaining and focusing instead on the love surrounding her and the second chance she got to say goodbye. She reminded everyone who visited her in her finals days that they should seek peace, love generously, and live life with gratitude.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing on Friday, May 29, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 U.S. 202, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church, 500 U.S. 22, Bridgewater, NJ. A burial will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, 95 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
