Antonio Caruso, 76, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Torchiati Montoro Superiore in the province of Avellino, he immigrated to this country in 1959. For 41 years, Antonio lived in Bound Brook before residing in Bridgewater for the last 4 years.
Antonio served in the United States Army from 1963-1967. He also served as a councilman for the Borough of Bound Brook from 1988-1990, and was a member of the Bound Brook Italian-American Club.
For more than 50 years, Antonio was the successful owner and operator of many hair salons including Hair Port, Hair Unique, Beverly Hills Hair Co., amongst others.
Antonio loved making wine, doing tomatoes with his family every August, and always enjoyed a nice cigar. He enjoyed traveling all over Europe and the Caribbean, but the one thing he loved the most was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Antonio lived life to the fullest, loved with all his heart, and had a positive impact with each and every person he ever came in contact with. He guided so many people in life, in business, was quietly generous, humble, and kind beyond words. He lit up every room he walked into with his infectious smile and welcoming arms. He will be greatly missed by so, so many.
Antonio is preceded in death by his beloved parents Margherita and Giovanni Caruso, and a brother Ferdinando Caruso.
Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years Myrna A. Lynch Caruso, a dear son Scott and wife Kristine Caruso of Parkland, FL; two loving daughters Claudine and husband Tom Ruscetta of Bound Brook, NJ; Gina and husband Brian Hayden of Hillsborough, NJ; two brothers Frank and wife Licia Caruso of Bridgewater, NJ; Claudio and wife Louise Caruso of Green Brook, NJ; three sisters, Angelina Iannone of Raritan, NJ; Filomena Russo of Bridgewater, NJ; and Raffaela and husband Fred Zedeny of Sarasota, FL; and eight adored grandchildren, Morgan, Anthony, Cole, Kennedy, Quinn, Brock, Bryce, and Peyton.
