Anthony C. Sorrentino Neshanic Station, NJ Anthony Sorrentino, 86, of Neshanic Station, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 14th, 2022 at Hunterdon Care Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1935, Anthony spent over 42 years in Brooklyn, then Staten Island, before moving to New Jersey 28 years ago. Mr. Sorrentino worked for the New York City Police Department for 24 years before retiring as Detective from the 68th Precinct in Brooklyn NY, in 1986. Anthony was a member of the NYPD DEA and PBA. He was President of the American Racing Pigeon Union and a member of the Bound Brook Homing Pigeon Club for many years. His lifelong passion was flying and racing his homing pigeons. He enjoyed going out to eat and taking trips to Florida, the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. He was a Kansas City Chiefs fan but enjoyed watching all types of sports. Anthony was most proud of his family and loved spending holidays and quality time with them, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Angelina and Nicholas Sorrentino, a son Nicholas Sorrentino (2010), a sister, Madeline Croce and a brother, Nicholas Sorrentino. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Theresa McAdam Sorrentino, two daughters, Angela and husband Joseph Libecci of Middletown, NJ; Theresa and husband Mark Seitz of York, PA; two brothers, Joseph and wife Jodi Sorrentino of Los Angeles, CA; Ernest Sorrentino of Boca Raton, FL; two sisters, Camille D'Allesandro of Brooklyn, NY; Sally and husband Sal Vitacco of Brooklyn, NY; and five cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Sophia, Brett, and Nolan. A memorial mass will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at 12:30pm. Private committal at a later date.
