Obituary

Anthony Sisto Lubrani, Sr. Bridgewater, NJ Anthony Sisto Lubrani, Sr., 81, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Newark before moving to Bridgewater 50 years ago. Anthony was a graduate of Our Lady of The Valley High School, Orange, NJ, then attended New York University. He proudly served as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy on the USS Canberra (CAG-02) from 1956-1958. He was a graduate of the American Academy of Mortuary Science and employed by Tamburro Funeral Home in Newark for several years. He later owned and operated the Somerset and Middlesex County franchises of Roto-Rooter for many years until his retirement. Anthony was a former member of UNICO, and a communicant of St. Bernard's R.C. Church in Bridgewater. Anthony was an avid fisherman, loved buying cars, traveling throughout Europe and the Caribbean, was extremely proud of his vegetable garden and enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. Anthony is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Angelina and Mario Lubrani; his loving in-laws, Phoebe and Joseph Ferguson; and his brother, Mario J. (2018). Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Barbara Ferguson Lubrani; his dear son, Anthony Jr. and wife Elizabeth Lubrani of Canyon Lake, TX; three loving daughters, Susan and husband James Blackford of Stewartsville, NJ, Marianne Lubrani and her fiancé Joseph Keating of Raritan, NJ, and Carolyn and husband Frank Sena of Warren, NJ; nine cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Joseph, Anthony III, Scott, Lindsay, William, Leslie, Melissa, and Francesca. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at 9:15am at the funeral home on Thursday, August 16, 2018, followed by a 10am funeral liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater. Committal will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
