Ann Ortenzio , 88, of Neshanic Station, died on Saturday, April 24, 2010. She was born on March 24, 1922 in Jersey City, NJ where she was raised by her parents, James and Theresa Atlanta. Ann attended the public schools of Jersey City and graduated from William Dickinson High School. She moved to Fords in 1956 and to Neshanic Station in 1974, where she resided until her death. Mrs. Ortenzio worked during the war effort of World War II making waterproofing material. Ann was a communicant of Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Bridgewater. In life, she was an accomplished seamstress, had a real passion for cooking, and was a savvy shopper. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 55 years, Frank P. Ortenzio, who passed away in 1998. Surviving are her children, Paul J. Ortenzio of Fords, James A. Ortenzio of New York City, Thomas J. Ortenzio of Eden Prairie, MN, Lynn Ann Price of Lebanon, and Teresa Ann Wagner of Toms River. Ann was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Wisnewski of New Milford and Jane Ann Kaufman of Chapel Hill, NC. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, April, 28, 2010 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 60 Maple Street, Bridgewater, NJ. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Viewing hours are Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 5 to 9 PM at the funeral home. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made in Ann's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
