Andrew Rudko , 92, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin. Born in Newark, he formerly resided in Union before moving to Branchburg 50 years ago. Andrew worked as a machinist for Western Electric in Kearny for 33 years until retiring in 1972. He was also the owner and operator of Dreahook Azalea Farm in Branchburg from 1957 to 1986. Mr. Rudko was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He enjoyed woodworking, golf and horticulture, but he especially cherished time spent with his family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Melba E. Widman Rudko in 1999 and was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his beloved son, Timothy, and his wife, Nancy, of Little Egg Harbor and his loving daughter, Lois Brobst, and husband, George, of Culpeper, VA; his cherished grandchildren, Deborah and Gregory Brobst and Melissa Rudko; and his dear sister, Ann Kalinski of Gaithersburg, MD. A Prayer Service will be held on Monday at 10:30 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, (908) 526-7638. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitations hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home.
