Andrew S. Kovac, 92, of Raritan, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his home. He was born in Raritan and has resided there his entire life.
Andrew worked for Local 779 for over 42 years before his retirement.
Andrew was a very active communicant with St. Joseph R.C. Church in Raritan where he served as an usher.
Andrew was a member of the Laborer Local 779 of Somerville, was a life member and former fire Chief of Raritan Relief Hose #2, and was a World War II Veteran with the US Army.
Andrew loved taking trips to Atlantic City and visiting the Jersey Shore. He adored his family dogs, loved attending the annual Fireman's Convention in Wildwood every year, and most of all spending quality time with his family. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary and Andrew Kovac; his loving wife of 63 years, Theresa Kovac (2016); four sisters; and one brother.
Surviving are his two dear sons, Jerry of Raritan, NJ, and Andrew and his wife Jill of Flemington, NJ.
Viewing will be held Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home at 8:45am on Friday, December 21, 2018 followed by a 9:30am funeral liturgy at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Raritan.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
