Andrew J. Gorman

October 18, 1963 - October 16, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Andrew James Gorman of Raritan Township, New Jersey, on October 16, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children.

Andrew was born in Somerville, raised in Branchburg and lived in North Plainfield before moving to Raritan Township. He was a graduate of Somerville High School and Southern Methodist University.

Following graduation, he worked as a project manager in the financial services industry for more than 35 years. He began his career at Merrill Lynch. As his career progressed, he held positions at Buck Consultants, American International Group, and Robert Half Technology. Prior to working for Robert Half, he worked on a long-term consulting project at MetLife.

Outside of work, he shared his time and considerable talent with those around him. He sang beautifully and served for many years as a cantor at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges. He loved sports and shared that passion and his time with his sons, as well as the community, by serving as a coach for both Flemington-Raritan Baseball and the Greater Flemington Soccer Club. He also actively and enthusiastically supported his children's schools. At JP Case Middle School, he chaperoned Music in the Parks trips and assisted with building sets for the musical. At Immaculata High School, he was especially generous with his time during the years his children attended, serving as a mentor for the Cold Fusion Robotics Team, and as a "Pit Bull" for the Spartan Marching Band. During his extensive involvement as a band parent, he built props for shows, carried equipment on and off the field, drove the band bus to games and competitions, did the overnight watch at band camp, and drove the band's truck to Florida for the Disney trip. He also served as coordinator for the Pit Bulls. In addition to these endeavors, he loved doing home improvement projects and working in the garden.

He was predeceased by his father Richard Gorman.

Andrew is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Laurie Gorman, and his beloved children: son Ryan and his wife Kelly, son Brendan, and daughter Katie. He is also survived by his mother Mary Lou Gorman, brother Richard Gorman and sister Laura Miller and her husband Scott, as well as an uncle, aunts, and many Gorman cousins. He will be sorely missed by his Forrestall family in-laws, his nieces and nephews, and friends.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 23, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at Branchburg Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 24 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Bridgewater, followed by entombment at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater.
