Andre P. Zownir Branchburg, NJ Andre Pierre Zownir, 68, of Branchburg, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at St. Peters University Hospital. Born in Brussels, Belgium, Andre resided in New York for over 20 years before moving to East Brunswick, NJ, 37 years ago. Andre worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a civil engineer for over 40 years. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Engineering from the Brooklyn Polytechnic University. Andre was an avid reader, he enjoyed exercising daily, watching old movies, doing crossword puzzles, trivia, and watching Lawrence Welk. But most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially is grandchildren, and taking trips to his summer place in Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Anna Krypel Zownir, his beloved parents, Eustachia and Basil Zownir, and his sister, Daria Zownir. He is survived by his dear son Christopher and wife Megan of Branchburg, NJ; a loving daughter Katherine and husband Robert Hazemey of Woodbridge, VA; and 2 adored grandchildren, Eric and Ryan Zownir, and his favorite pups, Lady, Daisy, and Hamburglar. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home at 9:15am on Wednesday, March 27, 2018 followed by a 10am funeral liturgy at St. Bernard R.C Church in Bridgewater. Burial will follow in St Andrew's Ukrainian Cemetery in South Bound Brook.
