Ambrose J. Mikovich Jr. Branchburg, NJ Ambrose Mikovich Jr., 83, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at RWJ Somerset. Born in New Philadelphia, PA, Ambrose resided in North Plainfield for 7 years and Bound Brook for a year and a half before moving to Branchburg 52 years ago. Mr. Mikovich served our county is the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1968. After serving, he went on to work for Plainfield U.S. Postal Service as a Bulk Mail Tech for 48 years before retiring in 2004. Ambrose was a member of the U.S. Postal Workers Union. He enjoyed tending to his flower and vegetable gardens and doing yard work. He loved going to the race track and taking trips to casino's around the country with his wife, Elizabeth, and traveling around the world with his family. The one thing Ambrose enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anna and Ambrose Mikovich and four sisters, Helen Pautienus, Anna Bondura, Marie Dunleavy, and Kathryn Govern. Surviving are his loving wife, Elizabeth Fitzgerald Mikovich of 54 years, two dear daughters, Joan and husband Michael Campion of Stewartsville, NJ; Carol Mikovich of Apex, NC; one sister, Antoinette Doyle of New Philadelphia, PA; and five cherished grandchildren, Heather, Anthony, Patrick, Ryan, and Kyle. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022 from 2-6pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 9:15am. Funeral mass will follow at 10am at Holy Trinity Church.
