Alfred Zicaro
, 84, died Friday, September 19, 2008 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, N.Y. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., Alfred lived in Brooklyn for many years before moving to Lancaster in 1980.
Mr. Zicaro was an electrician and he worked at the Brooklyn and Philadelphia Navy Yard and then for the Federal Aviation Administration at several airports over a course of several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Domenica Meringold Zicaro, a brother, John, and a sister, Carmela Mavica.
Surviving are his sisters, Rose D'Antonio of Branchburg, N.J. and Angela Zicaro of Lancaster, N.Y., his brother, George of Lancaster, N.Y., two nieces, two nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will begin with a prayer on Friday (September 26) at 9:15 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876 (908) 526-7638, followed by a 10:00 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church, 500 Route 22 East, Bridgewater. Interment will be at Fist Calvary Cemetery, Greenpoint Ave., Woodside, N.Y. Visitation hours are Thursday (September 25) from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
