Alfred H. Roberts

Gettysburg, PA

Alfred H. Roberts, age 101, passed away on March 1, 2025. He was born in Concord, NH the son of Harold and Audrey (Tibbetts) Roberts on January 18, 1924. He was a truck driver most of his adult life, later becoming a courier for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed doing latch hook and loved his cats. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII, in the South Pacific abroad the USS Gatlin. He served in the U.S. Army at the start of the Korean Conflict severing in Guam.

He married the late Clara B. (Kershener) Roberts. They had 6 children, Audrey Townsend, Alfreda Jane Sanders, Kenneth and Darryl Roberts, all of the Gettysburg, PA area, David Roberts of Hanover, PA, and the late Emily Swift.

He moved to Somerville, NJ, and lived there 60+ plus years. He married Jenny (Kofarski) Roberts who passed away in 2012.

Besides his children, he is survived by 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his family.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10am-11am at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876. A prayer service will begin at 11am. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
