Obituary

Alan F. Ash Flemington, NJ Alan F. Ash, 57, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Alan grew up in Branchburg for most of his life before moving to Flemington 20 years ago. Alan was the owner and president of AM Electrical Contractors for 30 years. His true passions in life were hunting, fishing, cruising on his Harley Davidson with his wife by his side, countless charity rides, bike week in Ocean City Maryland and hanging out at the Jersey Shore, but most importantly spending quality time with the love of his life. They spent every weekend together whether it was dancing in the kitchen at home, out on the town or spending happy hour with the crew from Lanoka Harbor, Bayville or Forked River. Alan's passion for life was immeasurable, and his love for his friends and family will never be forgotten. If he came into your life, you can never forget his sense of humor, although dry he made everyone laugh, which was his daily goal to make his wife smile and laugh. A precious light has gone out but will flicker in the heart of everyone that he touched. "Life is not measured by the numbers of breath we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Ash. He leaves behind his loving wife Karen Matisak-Ash (nee Lapotasky), his mother, Diane Willmott Ash, a brother, Scott and wife Valerie Ash, two sons through marriage, Christopher and wife Larissa Matisak and Brandon Matisak, a cherished granddaughter, Victoria, and his best buddy, his Boxer, Douglas. Along with his immediate family, Alan leaves behind his sister and brother in law, Barbie and husband Daman Bauman, Tom and wife Jane Connell, Sandy and husband Steve Ellis, Michael and wife Leslie Lapotasky, and his nieces and nephews, Dylan, Tommy, Tyler, Dylan, Nicolette, Haiden, and Avery. The family would like everyone to come to his viewing in casual attire. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. Committal is private. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Hubert's Animal Shelter 3201 US -22 Somerville, NJ 08876. Committal is private.
