Abraham Q. Mak Basking Ridge, NJ Abraham Q. Mak, 63, of Basking Ridge, NJ passed away peacefully at Morris Hills Center in Morristown, NJ, on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Born in Guangzhou, China, he immigrated to the United States before residing to Basking Ridge, NJ. Mr. Mak was a partner at Mak and Company CPAs LLP in New York, NY. He was a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA, Chairman of the Judge Committees for Miss New York Chinese Beauty Pageant and graduated with a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Pace University. He always had an ongoing pursuit of expanding his knowledge professionally and personally, was an avid reader and took pride in his family and his business that he started himself so many years ago in the Chinese community in New York City. Surviving are his beloved mother Sum Kum Chiu of Edmonton, Canada; the love of his life, Elaine; 2 dear sons, Jonathan of New York, NY and Nicholas of Basking Ridge, NJ; his loving daughter, Christina and son-in-law, Gordon Fretz of Flushing, NY; and his wonderful sister, Stella Young of Edmonton, Canada. Viewing will be held Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm and Monday, February 27, 2017 from 9:30-10:00 am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
