Abraham Issa Ghanem Catawba, North Carolina Abraham Issa Ghanem (also known as Abu Yosef) died peacefully at the age of 76 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Abe was born in Jerusalem, Palestine and in 1968, came to the United States in hopes of making a better life for his parents and siblings. At the age of 26, he met the love of his life, an American girl, Patricia Ann McDougall. For almost 48 years they created a beautiful love story and raised six children. Abe will always be known as the life of the party, always dancing and telling inappropriate jokes to anyone who would listen. He was truly a loving and caring son, husband, brother, father and grandfather. Before he retired in 2009, he was a carpet installer and when he wasn't working, he loved to travel back and forth to his birth country, Ramallah (Jerusalem, Israel). He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, his six children, Nina, Renee, Lori, Maggie, Maha and Joey. Also surviving are his brothers, Jamal, Hanna, Fadel, Fuad, Kayed and his beloved sister, Nelly and Hala. Abe also has nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 7:30pm. Committal is private.
