Bernard Lindemann, 97, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born and raised in Hoboken, NJ. Bernard resided in North Plainfield before settling in Branchburg.
After graduating from high school Bernard joined the Army and served our Country during WWII. Upon being discharged from the Army, Bernard went on to received a Bachelor's Degree from Steven's Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. He also received a Masters Degree from Long Island University.
During his free time, Bernard was a Board Member of the Plainfield Area Humane Society, Board Member of the Epilepsy Foundation, Board Member Raritan Valley Community College and Board Member of the Somerset Medical Center. He was also involved and former president of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Boy Scout Organization, Flint and Steal.
A dedicated Boy Scout, Bernard enjoyed camping and being outdoors. He had a huge love for dogs but most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Cecilia and Edward Lindemann, his wife, H. Joan Lindemann, and his sister, Jessie Vandenberg.
Surviving are his dear son, Russell and wife Diane Lindemann of Brodheadsville, PA; his loving daughter, Ellen Lindemann and husband Tulsi Maharjan of Neshanic Station, NJ; five cherished grandchildren, Addam Lindemann, Catherine Jenkins, Tara Maharjan, Anil Maharjan, Joshua Favereaux and nine adored great grandchildren, Bryant, Cole, Bennett, Archer, Nora, Aidan, Grace, Isabela, Samira, Hailey, Madison and Lucy.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 4pm-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt.202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
A second viewing will take place on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 10am-11am at the Branchburg Funeral Home with a service starting at 11am. Entombment to follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Lindemann Scholarship Fund – Raritan Valley Community College.
