Vincenzo Ruffa , 97, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at his residence. Born in the province of Catanzaro, in the town of San Gregorio d'Ippona, Italy to his late parents, Gregorio and Rosa Giofre Ruffa he immigrated to the United States in 1956, settling in Raritan. He was a warehouse worker with Art Color of Dunellen for 20 years. He previously worked for D.R. Kenyon in Bridgewater as a machinist for 10 years, retiring in 1972. Mr. Ruffa had a passion for gardening, wine making and his family, which spans five generations. He was a member of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Domenica Greco Ruffa in 1993. He was also preceded by two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his loving daughters, Maria Rose Gasparro and husband, Antonio, Vincenza Greco and husband, Giacomo, Immaculata Suriano and husband, Pasquale, Caterina Grande and husband, Nicola and Isabella Cirianni and husband, Raffaele all of Raritan, his loving son, Gregorio Ruffa and wife, Caterina of San Gregorio d'Ippona, Italy, 21 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:30 AM on Saturday at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10:30 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan. Entombment will be in the St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum, Bridgewater. Visitation hours will be Friday from 4 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
