Steve Novak , 79, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Born in Manville, he resided in Branchburg for the past 56 years. Mr. Novak worked for Johns-Manville in Manville for 30 years, retiring in 1982 as an Assembly Line Worker. He then worked for Branchburg Township for seven years; Ace Hardware in Branchburg for five years; and then Dunkin Donuts in Branchburg for seven years. Steve was a communicant of St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan. He was a member of the American Legion Post 327, Bradley Gardens. Steve was an avid fisherman, especially salt water fishing, and he enjoyed making furniture and various woodworking projects. Steve loved being out around town socializing with everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Mary Sakes Novak; his wife of 28 years, Bridget (Bridy) Novak; and his sister, Mary. Surviving are his cherished daughter, Kim Rocknak of Randallstown, MD; his cherished son, Brian Novak of Branchburg; his grandchildren, Shannon, Tiffany, and Raven; and his four great-grandchildren, Jaslyn, Alexis, Cody, and Hailey. Funeral services will begin with a prayer at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 followed by a 10 AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Ann's R.C. Church, 45 Anderson Street, Raritan. Committal will be private. Viewing hours are Monday, April 21, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
