Jean Bolton Jones
, 80, died Monday, September 1, 2008 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. She was born in Greenock, Scotland. While still a young girl, she immigrated, with her parents, to the United States and resided in South Plainfield before moving to Bridgewater 42 years ago.
Mrs. Jones worked at the Raritan Savings Bank in Raritan for 25 years, before retiring in 1993. She attended the Hillsborough Reformed Church in Hillsborough.
Jean lived for and relished the time she spent doting on her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. Those loving, everyday moments, were the ones that meant the most. A natural born story teller, Jean would spend hours engaging her grandchildren in memories of her youth. Her memory and words will continue to live on in her grandchildren's hearts and through the stories they will share with the next generation. She truly enjoyed the beauty of the world surrounding her, from the fragrances of roses to a cool gentle breeze. Through these simple everyday pleasures she will continue to touch those whom she loved.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Liz Jones, in 2007.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 58 years, Gerald Jones; her dear daughter, Pamela Meyer, and husband, Alan of Hillsborough, her dear sons, Jeffrey of Montgomery and Craig and wife, Susan, of Milford; her cherished grandchildren, Allyson Lastowski and husband, John, Heather and Scott Meyer, Samantha, Jennifer, Linda, Trevor and Travis Jones; one great-grandson, Jackson Lastowski; her dear sister, Elizabeth McCormack of Bethpage, LI, NY and her dear brother, Joseph Bolton and wife, Joan of Massapequa, LI, NY.
