William F. Maier II, 78, of Manchester, New Jersey, formerly of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 19, 2017.
William was born in Bronx, New York near Yankee Stadium on September 9, 1938. He graduated from Trinity Prep High School in Manhattan, NY and went on to take business classes at Pace University.
He entered into the military in 1956 through 1959 and was stationed in Germany. Upon return from the service he started working at AT&T where he completed 45 years of service most recently as a Contract Manager in Liberty Corner, New Jersey. Upon retirement he moved to Manchester, NJ in 2001 with his wife to enjoy his retirement for the last 16 years.
His life was devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had a great passion for conversation with his friends, politics, the Yankees, watching TV, specifically Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and the Dog Whisperer, competitive sports in retirement including championship wins in shuffleboard and bowling, animals, and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit.
William is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret Maier; two children, his cherished daughter Karen M. Maier and her husband Michael J. Adams and his beloved son William F. Maier III and his wife Dana Maier and his six grandchildren: Billy Maier, Madison, Julia, Sela, Joseph, and Jordyn.
Viewing will be held Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Funeral services will start with a prayer at the funeral home on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 9:15am followed by a 10:00am funeral liturgy at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges, NJ.
Entombment will follow at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.
