Gary Edmund Schubert
Mt. Olive, NJ

Gary Edmund Schubert, 57, of Mt. Olive, NJ, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017, at his home. Born and raised on Staten Island, NY, he resided in Hillsborough, NJ for 12 years before moving to Mt. Olive, NJ 14 years ago.
Gary was a graduate of East Brunswick High School class of 1978. He attended college at Rowan University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1982.
He was Vice President for COSCO SHIPPING (North America) Inc in Secaucus, NJ where he was employed for more than 20 years.
Gary enjoyed fishing, boating, bowling, tennis, golf, watching the news, comedy movies, was an avid coin collector, and had a strong love for animals, especially his pets, Brownie, Cody, and Birdie. He also cherished spending quality time with his family and put a premium on a hard day’s work. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Edmund F. Schubert Jr. (2013).
Surviving are his beloved mother Shirley Schubert of Bridgewater, NJ; 2 cherished sons, Chase and Kyle and their mother Charlene Schubert of Mt. Olive, NJ; 1 dear brother, Gregory and wife Julie of Marietta, GA; 2 loving sisters, Karen and husband Brian Lynch of Maplewood, NJ, and Kristie and husband James Reilly of Bridgewater, NJ; and many adored nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 10:00am at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 1890 Washington Valley Rd, Martinsville, NJ 08836.
Committal is private.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, 1160 Route 22 East CenterPointe II, Suite 103, Bridgewater, NJ, 08807.
