Arthur G. Mohan, 81, of Whitehouse Station, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 08, 2017. Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a resident of Branchburg before moving to Whitehouse 2 ½ years ago.
Mr. Mohan worked as a Research Chemist for American Cyanamid and Wyeth Pharmaceutical Corporation for 25 years before his retirement in 2000.
He was responsible for developing several patents for work and on his own, and helped with the development of the now called, Glow Chemical Light Stick.
Arthur was a member of the Hunterdon Sailing Club, The American Chemical Society, and was a communicant of Holy Trinity R.C. Church and member of their choir.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed singing, golfing, sailing with his family, and spending quality time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anne and Arthur Mohan.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 58 years, Joan Mickey Mohan; 2 dear sons, Brian and wife Regina of Branchburg, NJ and Michael and wife Odile of Geneva, Switzerland; 2 loving daughters, Anne and husband Bruce Magaw of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Cathy and husband Paul Mule of Alexandria, VA; 1 wonderful brother, Rev. Bernard Mohan of Brick, NJ; and 8 cherished grandchildren, Laura, Emma, Vincent, Ellen, Patricia, Alice, Edwin, and Annie.
Viewing will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Funeral services will start with a prayer at 10:15 am at the funeral home on Monday, February 13, 2017 followed by an 11:00 am funeral liturgy at Holy Trinity R.C. Church 60 Maple St, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
Committal will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Benedicts Preparatory School 520 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Newark, NJ 07103.
